A McIntosh C31V was in for a switch repair at Bob the Tech Audio. While it was here we replaced lamps and gave it a full performance check. We isolated the issue to the Aux1 input. There was no hint of audio switching on the oscilloscope, and the Aux1 LED would not light when depressed. After disassembling the unit we identified the switch was fine, but the signal was not making it to the connector. The trace was broken somewhere along its length. We resolved the issue by adding a soft-wire between the switch and connector. Once that was completed the unit functioned and performed beautifully.
