Bob the Tech Audio

We had two McIntosh MC275-IV amps, a version from early 2000s, in the shop recently for service. Both were quickly fixed and sounding great.

A pair of McIntosh MC7205 amplifiers came in for meter repairs and other issues. We replaced a speaker relay, rebuilt the meters, reworked the front panels.

Bob the Tech had this McIntosh MI254 in for repair. The MI254 class D design produces 4-channels at 250 Watts per channel in a small form factor.

We’ve been busy with preamplifier repairs in the shop lately. With all of these preamplifiers repaired and ready to go, we thought we’d spend some time listening and comparing with our very own McIntosh Preamplifier Shootout.

We had McIntosh MC312 and MA12000 power amplifiers which were both blowing fuses immediately. After resolving the short circuit the units operate perfectly.

Repair and restoration of this McIntosh MC2205 resolved some incorrect wiring, a failed thermistor, and a complete re-capping. It sounds great

Bob the Tech recently had a pair of McIntosh MC2301 amplifiers in for repairs. We had the issues isolated, repaired, and the unit running in no time.

Bob the Tech performed a restoration of this Harmon/Kardon 430 Tuner including lamp replacements, power supply update, re-capping, and tuner alignment.

We recently had this McIntosh MA252 with no output in for repair. Isolated to the volume/tone device, we had the unit repaired and running in no time.
